Image 3.0 national photographic commission brings digital technologies into the CNAP collection

Announcement

In response to an initiative by the Ministry of Culture and in partnership with Jeu de Paume, the Centre national des arts plastiques (CNAP) has developed a programme of photographic commissions that focuses on new methods of image production. The project is intended to illustrate and encourage the vitality of contemporary photographic creation in the widest sense.

There is no imposed theme. Works are produced using innovative technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, 3D printing, 3D scanning, modelling, mapping and other digital technologies. Entries can also call on new techniques developed with engineers and researchers.

The works should be provided in digital form for viewing at multiple potential locations, in formats adapted to reinventing the exhibition economy.

The selection committee chose projects by 16 photographers:

Donatien Aubert, Mustapha Azeroual (Atelier Vingt), Nelson Bourrec Carter, Brodbeck and de Barbuat, Gregory Chatonsky, Raphael Dallaporta (with Louis Thiry and Thomas Kerdreux), Philippe Durand, Justine Emard, Noémie Goudal, Nicolas Gourault, Clarisse Hahn, Manon Lanjouere, Elsa Leydier, Anna Malagrida, Hanako Murakami, Bogdan Chthulu Smith.

The winners have until 28 February 2021 to deliver their work. All the works produced as part of this 2020 national photographic commission will join the Fonds national d’art contemporain, which is managed by CNAP.
