Screening Series II: Early Spring
Campoli Presti continues its series of seasonal screenings taking place at the gallery space in Paris. Each edition features the work of three artists and is directed towards a particular question.
The second installment of the series, « Early Spring » will be dedicated to the works of Silvia Maglioni & Graeme Thomson, Élise Florenty & Marcel Türkowsky, and Melissa Dubbin & Aaron S. Davidson.
This edition brings together three speculative works which secretly pass through the needle’s eye and explore the interstice between science fiction and non-fiction for weaving contemplative fabulations. Taking an experimental approach, the artists employ anti-representational sound strategies that explore the vibrations that occur within and outside each film.
Goethe’s meteorological observations of September 11, 1819 become the haunted fabric of a political reading of today’s blackening skies; a communist utopia turns into hallucinatory visions during an electro-telepathic experiment in a Ukrainian mining town; a thriving exotic species and a colony of prospecting ants summon a ballistic tale of hunting and working on White Sands Missile Range.
« Early Spring » is curated by Maxime Guitton.
