Marie Aerts - Débarquement
En costume cravate, « L’homme sans tête » de Marie Aerts » est un être générique à caractère humain mais dont la physionomie même pose question. Proto-humain ou extra terrestre, cette figure récurrente dans le travail multiforme de l’artiste est un être sans passé ni avenir, une entité vide de pensée et de désir, propice à toutes les manipulations possibles.
« L’homme sans tête » s’est révélé à l’artiste à la lecture de Mille plateaux de Gilles Deleuze et Félix Guatari, notamment au travers du concept du Corps sans organes. Le personnage est ainsi né d’une utopie, celle d’échapper au désastre engendré par les dérives du pouvoir de nos sociétés contemporaines. De cette façon, l’artiste questionne l’identité, la perte de libre arbitre, l’uniformisation, la mise à nu des systèmes d’ordre et de socialisation.

Dressed in a suit and tie, “L’homme sans tête” or “The Headless Man” by Marie Aerts is a generic being with human aspects but whose physionomy itself questions the character. Proto-human or extra-terrestrial, this recurrent figure in the multimedia work of the artist is a being with no past and no future, with no thinking and no desire, thus a being that can be manipulated.
“L’homme sans tête” came to the artist’s mind from the book entitled Mille Plateaux by Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guatari, and refers to the concept of a corpse without organs. The figure is thus born from a utopian ideal to escape from the deviations of power in our contemporary societies. It is a way to question identity, loss of introverted thinking, uniformity, order and socialization mechanisms.
In the first part of Marie Aerts’s presentation by Galerie Dix9, the exhibition entitled Debarquement” focuses on her video made in 2011, and on drawings of the story-board of her new project called Uchronie 1 or the Domino Effect
