Return to the Pictogram

Roman, italic, bold – and Infini has still more in its bag of tricks, including a series of 26 “letter-images” corresponding to the 26 letters of the Roman alphabet, some of which are scattered here and there in the pages of this specimen. Each capital becomes a pictogram whose meaning and graphic representation encompass and extend beyond the letter itself, including natural phenomena, animals, everyday objects, means of transportation, musical instruments – 26 attempts to allow abstract signs the freedom to become once again images of things, each being chosen from amongst myriad.

*French nouns that begin in each case with the corresponding letter.
