On Tuesday 26 March, the French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati visited the work site in Pantin for the Cnap national fine arts centre.
Accompanied by Fabrice Hyber, President of the Cnap Board of Directors, Béatrice Salmon, Director of the Cnap, Christian Mourougane, President of the Oppic operator of heritage and property projects for culture, and Christopher Miles, General Director of Artistic Creation, the Minister of Culture delivered an inspiring speech on the Cnap and the construction work in progress. An atypical public establishment under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, the Cnap will see its actions further strengthened to contribute to the vitality of the French art scene thanks to its future building. Its new home will allow the Cnap to develop and expand its missions in support of creation both on- and off-site via various forms. By fulfilling this project, the Ministry of Culture sends a strong signal to all visual art professionals both in France and abroad.
The building’s construction should be completed in late 2026, for the Cnap’s installation in 2027.
While awaiting its move to Pantin, the Cnap will occupy premises at Cap 18 on 189 Rue d’Aubervilliers in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
