John Miller - Mai-Thu Perret

John Miller présente deux séries de photos: "Clubs for America" and "Wind from the East". La première présente les sites des "sex clubs" de NYC qui ont fermés ou ont été fermés après le début de l’épidémie du SIDA. Depuis il ne reste plus aucunes traces de ces clubs. Dans "Wind for the East", John Miller explore des endroits significatifs historiquement mais ne portant plus visuellement de traces évidentes de leurs importance. S’inspirant de Smithson il les appelle des "ideological nonsites". Beaucoup de ces images ont été prises à Berlin, où l’administration Kohl a cherché à éradiquer toutes traces du passé communiste de l’est de la ville. Miller présente également des photos de Paris et New York dont les images des tombes de Jim Morisson et Jackson Pollock. The first one documents the sites of sex clubs in New York City that closed or were closed after the onset of the AIDS epidemic.
