GREGORY MONTREUIL
“Control Alt Delete”
This Exhibiton by Gregory Montreuil explores the role of content as it relates to abstraction. Resurrecting the periennial dilemma of abstraction and current events seemly far removed and unrelated. Montreuil will challenge this concept using collage elements and installation.
Montreuil will employ various stratiges to bridge the gap between content and abstraction. The exhibition will use actual news print manually cut and pasted as a support for abstraction. The mergers and mash ups will create the possibilities of new hybrid meanings and structures. The title comes from Control-Alt-Delete (often abbreviated to Ctrl+Alt+Del, also known as the "three-finger salute") a computer keyboard command that generally interrupts or facilitates interrupting a function.
