Graphisme en France Issue 31
Graphisme en France Issue 31
Published since 1994 by the Centre national des arts plastiques, Graphisme en France is a journal aimed at graphic designers, commissioners, and students. Each issue explores a specific theme within the field of graphic design.
This 31st edition of Graphisme en France is dedicated to the environmental responsibility of graphic design. Numerous initiatives are emerging, and professionals, students, and commissioners are engaging in more sustainable practices. In this issue, several contributors share their reflections, projects, and research to enrich practices and encourage collective thinking around these challenges. With conviction, this edition calls for awareness and action.
Among the contributors are Florence Cortat Roller, graphic designer and co-director of Éditions deux-cent-cinq in Lyon; Roxane Jubert, educator, researcher, and graphic designer, who presents a new essay on socio-ecological issues; Nolwenn Maudet, designer, lecturer at the University of Strasbourg, and researcher in the field of digital design; and Dutch designer Mark van Wageningen.
The graphic design of this edition was entrusted to Sarah Salomé Delétain, a recent graduate of the École supérieure d’art et design du Havre. Her research focuses on contexts and the relationships between forms in rural environments. For this issue, she carefully selected paper, formats, and inks to ensure the most efficient use of resources, adopting an approach that aims to make the project as environmentally responsible as possible.
Graphisme en France is published annually in 10,000 copies, distributed available free of charge throughout the French cultural network (Regional Directorates of Cultural Affairs, Regional Contemporary Art Funds, art centers, art and design schools, etc.).
The calendar lists all the venues across France that offer a rich year-round program of exhibitions, talks, festivals, and conferences, providing a wide audience with the opportunity to discover contemporary creation and fostering the dissemination of knowledge in graphic design and typography.
