Cité internationale des arts & CNAP : 2021 Residency Program

Announcement
Cité internationale des arts

In 2020, the Cité internationale des arts and the Centre national des arts plastiques partnered to create a unique residency program to support French curators and art critics particularly affected by the consequences of the Covid-19 health crisis.

Five curators were provided with a tailor-made accompaniment, a live-in studio and a grant for six months.

The Cnap and the Cité internationale des arts share the desire to provide sustainable support to the art scene in France and have decided to continue and strengthen the program for the year 2021. C-E-A / Association française des commissaires d’exposition, itself in residency at the Cité internationale des arts, is joining forces with the program’s partners this year to consider a specific program with the recipients.

The program includes:

• Live-in studio at the Cité internationale des arts (Marais site) from October 2021 to the end of March 2022;
• A 750€ monthly grant;
• Professional and artistic support and advice.

Five candidates will be selected from among the applicants.

Eligibility and selection criteria

The call for applications is open to curators and art critics of all nationalities living in France, who are professionally engaged and have a minimum of 5 years of curatorial practice. There is no age limit.

In addition to the evaluation of the candidate’s professional career, the members of the jury will pay particular attention to the project he or she intends to develop during the residency and to the impact of the Covid 19 crisis on the professional and material situation in which the professional finds himself or herself today.

A committee composed of two qualified artistic personalities, representatives of the Cnap, the Cité internationale des arts and of the C-E-A association, studies all the applications and selects the recipients of the program.
