Nostalgie de 1968 et engagement

« Alors qu’elle évoque la production éditoriale française sur Mai 1968, Antje Kramer-Mallordy regrette qu’elle fasse la part belle aux affiches et aux photographies au lieu de "replacer les événements dans une chronologie et une géographie plus vastes". Son analyse a été partagée par nos comités éditoriaux dans la formulation de leurs choix pour le sommaire autour de périodes plus larges que la seule année 1968, ou dans la sélection de publications engagées. La rubrique "L’Histoire revisitée" se charge de cette prise de distance avec le choix par Mica Gherghescu de trois publications couvrant l’après-guerre jusqu’à 1968 sur la poésie, le primitivisme, et la décolonisation ; celui de Jacopo Galimberti sur les années 1960-70 autour de Fabio Mauri, de l’Arte povera vu par Ileana Sonnabend, de Gianfranco Baruchello, Pier Paolo Pasolini et Giosetta Fioroni peu connue pourtant des parisiens alors qu’elle vécut dans la même cité qu’eux. De quoi passer du fascisme à l’extrême-gauche dans une période de grande créativité. […] »

Nostalgia for 1968 and political commitment

“When she refers to France’s publishing output dealing with May ’68, Antje Kramer-Mallordy laments the fact that the lion’s share has gone to posters and photographs, instead of ‘re-situating events in a much wider chronology and geography’. Her analysis has been shared by our editorial committees in formulating their choices for the contents of this issue around larger periods than simply the year 1968, and in the selection of politically committed publications. The heading ‘History Re-visited’ takes care of this gap with the choice made by Mica Gherghescu of three publications covering the postwar years up until 1968, to do with poetry, primitivism, and de-colonization; that made by Jacopo Galimberti about the 1960s and 1970s around Fabio Mauri, Arte povera as seen by Ileana Sonnabend, and the choices of Gianfranco Baruchello, Pier Paolo Pasolini and Giosetta Fioroni, albeit unfamiliar to Parisians, even though she lived in their city. The stuff of a shift from fascism to the far left in a period of great creativity.  […]”
