EVOLUTION OF THE CNAP ESTABLISHMENT
The year 2015 was characterised by structural changes at the Cnap: the 23 April 2015 statutory decree specified its missions and redefined its means of action. This new decree resulted in the reorganisation of several advisory boards – acquisitions and commissions, support for creation, and loans and deposits –, even though the members of these boards had been replaced, in order to diversify profiles in terms of gender parity and increase geographical and generational consistency.

SUPPORT FOR CREATION
In 2015, support policies were modified to adapt to the sector’s evolutions and establishment’s new statutes. The backing of supported projects intensified with the implementation of the Suite programme – developed with the ADAGP –, which offers public visibility to a selection of projects. Lastly, the Cnap started a partnership with the FIDMarseille (International Film Festival), during which the Cnap Prize rewarded a filmmaker for a first film at the crossroads between documentary and fiction.

COLLECTION AND PROJECTS
In 2015, 268 works by 102 artists were added to the Fonds national d’art contemporain managed by the Cnap.

Major loan projects were conducted, particularly at the Frac Picardie or musée des beaux-arts in Tours. The Cnap also took part in many exhibitions in France in partnership with schools, art centres, Frac, and museums, and abroad with the Institut français network. Each project is an occasion to enter a long-term collaboration, to renew research on the works, and to increase our knowledge of them. They offer a singular outlook on a unique collection, and provide various publics with the keys to understand the contemporary art scene.

In addition to this promotion mission, the Cnap has initiated an ambitious programme that focuses on three lines: conservation of the works, digitisation and accessibility of the works and data online. To this end, it has continued its inventorying work across the country. Lastly, it has also initiated a curatorial research grant and an artwork research project by actively participating in various programmes.

GRAPHIC DESIGN OF THE 2015 REPORT
The Cnap chose Émilie Coquard to design the 2015 report. The graphic designer worked with Louis Eveillard on data display, and with Coraline Mas-Prévost and Marine Longeanie on page layout. What makes the project stand out is the specific use of drawn patterns, which made it possible to introduce texture into the visual displays, which were then integrated into the composition grid laid out for the text and images. All the visual displays were drawn using a flatbed plotter (a digital graphics printing device). This tool and the constraints it imposes (fine felt-tip lines, outlines, and dots, rather than flat tints) directed the graphic choices and shapes used throughout the document.
