Je suis une artiste et écrivaine travaillant à Londres et en France.

Reader in Fine Art à l'Université de Sheffield Hallam, je suis également chercheur associée du Centre d'Analyse et de Recherche freudiennes  à Londres. J'ai eu de nombreuses expositions en Europe et en Amérique du Nord. J'ai publié, entre autres, Un cas d'hystérie (Book Works, Londres, 1999). Filigrane Editions a publié le petit livre Le bonheur des femmes, un travail qui a commencé dans les rayons de parfumerie des grands magasins de Paris, où je me suis retirée après avoir marché dans les rues en quête de Marx et Freud, dans l'ombre de Lacan. Ma pratique est d'un raffinement stupide, prise au piège dans les archives, les bibliothèques, les arcades, au carrefour de l'action politique publique et de la subjectivité privée. Je suis actuellement Sigmund Freud en vacances, et j'ai rêvé de Rome, été mélancolique à Trieste, ai subi un trouble de la mémoire à Athènes, que l'on peut retracer dans Freud on Holiday. Volume I., Freud Dreams of Rome (Information as material, 2006) et dans Freud on Holiday. Volume II,  A Disturbance of Memory (Information as material, York, avec Cubearteditions, Athènes, 2007). J'ai oublié mes chaussures sur les marches du Freud Museum, à Londres, et j'ai pensé trop tard à des remarques amusantes et pleines d'esprit  sur les marches du Freud Museum, à Vienne, ces événements sont relatés dans L'esprit d'escalier et dans An Agent of the Estate (Information as material, 2007 and 2008). Je suis actuellement chercheur invité à l'Institut d'études germaniques et romanes, Université de Londres, où j'ai traduit avec bonheur le canon freudien, avec une attention particulière aux types de caractères. En 2008, j'ai exposé à Sleeper, Edimbourg, exposition pour laquelle j'ai beaucoup travaillé sur mes broderies et mes pires traits de caractère, et à Feriancova contemporain / Bastart, Bratislava, où j'ai mis Rousseau à l'épreuve sur l'éducation naturelle.
En 2008, à l'espace CHELSEA, j'ai présenté une nouvelle série d'œuvres qui mettaient en exergue les relations entre la mode et des moments révolutionnaires de l'histoire de France.

Pour le moment je travaille sur des aquarelles de facture plutôt amateur, copiant des cartes postales anciennes, ce qui me donne énormément de plaisir ; re-photographiant la fumée des trains à vapeur et la neige sur les sommets des montagnes ; dessinant des brides, des mors, des étriers, des selles, et des mouvements de dressage, pendant que je pense à "Petit Hans", et reproduisant soigneusement des croquis de modèles de lingerie, en pensant à rien.

I am an artist and writer working in London and France.
Reader in Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University, I am also a Research Associate of the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research, London. I have exhibited widely in Europe and North America. Publications include A Case of Hysteria, Book Works, London, 1999. Filigrane Editions, France, published a small book on my work Le bonheur des femmes, a work that began in the perfume departments of the grands magasins of Paris, where I retreated after walking the streets in pursuit of Marx and Freud, in the shadow of Lacan. Mine is a practice of stupid refinement, trapped in archives, libraries, the arcades, and the intersection of public political action and private subjectivity. I am currently following Sigmund Freud on holiday, and I have dreamt of Rome, been melancholy in Trieste, and had a disturbance of memory in Athens, which can be traced in Freud on Holiday. Volume I. Freud Dreams of Rome (Information as material 2006) and Freud on Holiday. Volume II. A Disturbance of Memory (Information as material, York, with CubeArtEditions, Athens, 2007). I have forgotten my shoes on the steps of the Freud Museum, London, and I thought of witty and amusing remarks too late on the stairs of the Freud Museum, Vienna, and these events are recounted in L'esprit d'escalier and An Agent of the Estate (Information as material, 2007 and 2008). I am currently Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Germanic and Romance Studies, University of London, where I have been happily translating the Freudian canon, with particular attention to typefaces. In 2008 I exhibited at Sleeper, Edinburgh, for which I worked hard on my embroidery and my worst traits,and at Feriancova Contemporary/ Bastart, Bratislava, where I took Rousseau to task on natural education.
I exhibited a new series of works at Chelsea Space in November 2008, which insisted on a relation between fashion and revolutionary moments in the history of France.

At the moment I am working on some rather amateur water colours, copying old postcards, which are giving me enormous pleasure; re-photographing the smoke of steam trains and the snow on mountain peaks; drawing bridles, bits, stirrups, saddles, and dressage movements, while thinking of 'Little Hans'; and painstakingly re-rendering sketches of women modelling lingerie, while thinking of nothing.
