La galerie Chauvy, créée en 1997 présente des artistes consacrés, éminents représentants de l’abstraction de l’après-guerre venus de tous les horizons : Asie, Iran, Russie, Amérique, avec un intérêt particulier pour leurs oeuvres émergentes des années 40-50. La galerie s’ouvre aux mouvements figuratifs des années 60 avec la présentation d’oeuvres d’Antonio Segui ainsi qu’aux pratiques artistiques des années 70-80 qui résonnent avec photographies et peinture : celle de Marcel Barbeau, Grand-Prix du Québec 2013 ou les photographies de Karl Lagerfeld.

Si les terres rouges du Sénégal de Jean-Marc Brunet né en 1970 rejoignent les chants de l’aube de Jean Bazaine dans une même vibration, sa vision est toute contemporaine et convoque poésie et musique, apportant une fraîcheur et un répertoire de formes totalement inattendues. Dans une mise en perspective entre passé et présent, les oeuvres des artistes contemporains voisinent avec les oeuvres des artistes non-figuratifs de l’après-guerre présentées par la galerie à l’occasion d’Art Élysées : Marcel Barbeau, Jean Bazaine, Véra Pagava, Jean Bertholle,

Founded in 1997, the gallery Chauvy focuses on artists, prominent representatives of abstraction of the post-war with an particular interest for their emerging works of the 40s and 50s -. They came from all walks : Asia, Iran, Russia, America The Gallery opens to the mouvements of the 60s with the presentation of works of Antonio Segui, as well as to artistic practices of the 70s-80s :, photography and painting: those of Marcel Barbeau, Grand Prix Quebec 2013, and the photographs of Karl Lagerfeld.

If the red lands of Senegal of Jean-Marc Brunet, born in 1970, join to the Chants de l'Aube from Jean Bazaine in a same vibration, his vision is very contemporary and convenes poetry and music, bringing a freshness and a repertory of forms totally unexpected.

Putting past and present in perspective, they are presented by side with the works of non-figuratif artists of the post-war, not unrelated to the interest in landscape and the back to nature of these painters in the early fifties.
