L'œuvre d'Alexandra Guillot ne s'appuie pas sur un médium particulier, elle navigue entre la performance, la sculpture, le dessin, la photo, l'installation ou la vidéo avec une volonté chaque fois renouvelée de mettre en place un monde fait d'impressions discrètes et tenaces. Un univers immergé semble faire surface et porter avec lui une étrange atmosphère. Il y a une forme de langage mystérieux qui s'exprime ici, une grammaire inconnue qui résonne pourtant pour faire sens.
La marge, la nuit, les fantômes, le merveilleux... sont autant d'éléments qui composent l'œuvre d'Alexandra Guillot, ils trahissent cette nécessité de donner à voir l'à côté de toutes choses. De ce regard décadré nait alors le sentiment que le dur du monde ne contient finalement qu'une part infime de l'existence. L'artiste met en place une œuvre sensible et personnelle qui dit son rapport poétique au réel et tente de donner à ressentir un territoire invisible et nocturne.

Alexandra Guillot’s work does not rely on any particular medium, but instead switches between performance, sculpture, drawing, photography, installation and video with a constantly renewed will to create a realm of discreet and long-lasting impressions. An immersed world seems to surface, and with it a strange atmosphere. A form of mysterious language is expressed here; an unknown grammar that resonates and makes sense nonetheless.

The fringes, the night, the ghosts, the wonders… are as many elements that make up Alexandra Guillot’s work, betraying a need to reveal what happens on the edges of everything. This shifted perspective gives us the feeling that what is perceptible in this world only represents a fraction of existence. The artist creates a sensitive and personal work, which shows her poetic relationship with reality and attempts to open us up to an invisible and nocturnal territory.
